This is one of my favorite side dishes. I make it all the time. I like to sprinkle the sweet potatoes with cinnamon. Delicious!
ReplyDeleteUs too! There are some great combos for sweet potatoes!
DeleteAlso try sprinkling with rosemary. Yum yum!
ReplyDeleteGreat suggestion Lisa!
DeleteMicrowave the whole potatoe first for five minutes, cut into slices, drizzle olive oil, s/p to taste, then broil for 3-5mins on each side. Crispy and taste like the best darn potatoe chips ever. Less oven in the summer as well. Or, put in vege basket and put on grill instead of oven after microwave!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these tips with our readers!
DeleteIt looks like you don't peel them first, is that right?
ReplyDeleteThat is correct - do not peel them. The peel provides some great flavor and fiber. Just don't forget to wash them first!
DeleteAbout how many of these is a serving and how many calories per serving?
ReplyDeleteI usually eat 4 oz - this would probably be around 80 calories.
DeleteCan someone please explain to me what the advantages are to eating sweet potatoes? I've seen all sorts of recipes for eating clean but no explanations :) I'm in a process of trying to get my family on board. I'm a 40 yo mother of three boys and find your blog and IG page quite motivating! Thanks in advance!

This is my favorite way too, although for seasoning I use sea salt, cumin, and chili powder. Sweet and savory!
ReplyDeleteTry a little raw honey and finish with some cinnamon and sea salt for a little sweeter side.
