CLEAN EATING WINTER FOOD PREP RECIPES

Ahh, it’s the time of year where the days are short (light wise) but seem to last forever. It’s easy to fall back into bad habits because it’s “too cold” to do anything and it’s easy to just cover up! Don’t give up, we want you to continue and/or start your healthy habits this winter!

While we will certainly eat anything at any time of year, we definitely have our favorite winter recipes. Nice warm soups and chilis, hearty and filling sides, and fragrant breakfast recipes! Below are a few of our favorite foods to prepare in advance during the winter time. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

P.S. There’s still time to enter our 2020 Winter Workout Challenge!

BREAKFAST RECIPES

Crock Pot Apple Cinnamon Steel Cut Oats or Cranberry Apple Steel Cut Oats – Prepare a big batch of these delicious oats overnight and you will have a yummy smelling house AND a yummy breakfast for days! These are great hot OR cold! There’s a good reason they have been one of our top recipes for years! Pair this with eggs (we help you boil, scramble, or make an omelet!) or another protein source (here are some options if you don’t like eggs!) for a complete meal.

Easy Cinnamon Rolls – These guilt-free cinnamon rolls don’t only have to be for special occasions! Make a batch and have these for breakfast during the week. It will certainly be a great start to your day!

LUNCH/DINNER RECIPES

Zucchini Noodle Lasagna – This lasagna brings you the comfort of traditional lasagna without the carbs and calories.

Healthy Alfredo Sauce – Another perfect winter comfort food! This Healthy Alfredo Sauce is made with a wonderful chicken broth and cauliflower base that is blended into a rich and creamy sauce that is lower in fat, and high in nutrients.

OUR FAVORITE CHILI RECIPES

Black Bean & Sweet Potato Turkey Chili – It sounds like an odd combination but – trust me – it is amazing. This is another one of our top recipes! You get everything you need for a complete meal…protein and fiber! Eat it for lunch or dinner! We usually make ours with ground chicken breasts instead of turkey.

Southwest Style Bison Chili with Quinoa – Scott LOVES this recipe. It’s easy to make and tastes great leftover. We actually like it cold (as leftovers) but it’s delicious warmed up again too!

Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup – Chicken Tortilla Soup loaded with tender chicken, tomatoes, and a rich flavorful broth loaded with traditional flavors will totally wow your taste buds.

Crockpot Jambalaya – Savor the Cajun flavors in this healthy, but hearty flavor-packed Crockpot Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya recipe.

Easy Taco Soup with Ranch – This Taco soup is gluten-free, dairy-free, and weight watchers friendly. Mix together ground meat, a variety of beans, corn, and a wonderful seasoning blend to create a delicious and protein-packed soup

SIDE DISHES

Cinnamon Roasted Butternut Squash – These are similar to our Sweet-Sweet Potato Cubes but I love butternut squash this time of year. Seriously, they will melt in your mouth and you might have a hard time putting them away after you prep them.
