FUDGE BROWNIE PROTEIN BITES
Craving something chocolatey? You have to make these fudge brownie protein bites! Who knew simply mixing dates and raw cacao powder together made a fudge-like texture?!
WHY USE DATES?
In our opinion, dates are one of the best alternatives to sugar. You get the natural sweetness and tons of fiber, potassium, and magnesium. Not many other sugar alternatives can offer vitamins, minerals, and fiber in addition to a mild flavor. Plus, they are the key to the fudge-like brownie texture in this recipe.
HELPFUL INGREDIENT INFORMATION:
Dark Chocolate
You can buy dark chocolate morsels such as Enjoy Life’s Dark Chocolate Morsels (which are soy-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free) or you can “chop” up a bar of dark chocolate into little chunks. We love Lindt Dark Chocolate Bars for this.
Protein Powder
There are a lot of protein powders on the market but it’s important to pay attention to the ingredients. We’ve reviewed many of the clean eating protein powder options for you below!

Description
These Fudge Brownie Protein Bites are soft, chewy, and each one is bursting with rich dark chocolate!
Ingredients
- 20 pitted dates
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup raw cacao powder, divided
- 1 cup raw unsalted walnuts
- 1/3 cup chocolate protein powder
- 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Soak the dates in 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk for an hour
- After the dates have soaked, place the dates and milk in a blender with vanilla extract and 1/4 cup cacao powder. Blend until it resembles a sticky crumble (about 30 seconds).
- Add the walnuts, protein powder, and salt to the mixture and blend again until the batter is tough and sticky (about 30 seconds). Add chocolate chips and mix into the batter until evenly distributed.
- Pour 1/4 cup cacao powder onto a cutting board or platter for dusting. Scoop out one spoonful of batter and roll into a ball in the cacao powder. Place the ball in Tupperware once the ball is no longer sticky and is evenly coated in cacao powder. Repeat this step until you run out of batter.
- The recipe should yield 16-18 bites
