Local schools have already started back down here in the good ol' state of Georgia. I can't even think about how fast time flies by. We can't slow it down so might as well make the best of it, right? <-- This brings me to our next detox challenge...detox your relationships!
Before you freak out that we are going to make you say "see ya" to all of your friends and family, let us explain. Bottom line, some relationships are just not good for us. We know it deep down but sometimes we don't want to admit it.
Maybe you have people in your life who are always dragging you down whether they are talking bad about you or someone you care about or pressuring you into doing things that you don't want to do. This will look different for every person but it's time to evaluate your relationships. Sometimes you do need to cut the cord and sometimes you just need a little distance, that's for you to decide. All we ask is that you evaluate those relationships this month.
We aren't only talking about friends and family here. Think about all of your relationships such as doctors, trainers, work colleagues, roommates, and even your babysitter!
WONDERING WHAT ALL OF THIS DETOX STUFF IS ALL ABOUT?
Take a look at the concept behind our Detox Your Life Challenge here.
SO, WHAT WILL WE BE WORKING ON THIS MONTH?
Last month for our Detox Your Digital Life Challenge, our goals were to:
- Stop the negative self-talk (sorta check!)
- Limit time on social media (we will be using the ideas from the Smartphone Detox) (check!)
- Limit time watching TV (we typically only watch the Cubs games but it’s good to put this one down on paper!) (check!)
Honestly, we don't have many toxic relationships but we do want to try and connect with others that share our same outdoor interests in order to foster new relationships. So one of our goals this month is to try and connect with at least one other couple who enjoys hiking and/or backpacking! We also do need to find new doctors - we've been talking about going to a naturopathic doctor for years but have never taken the time to research and find one.
