Wow! The response to our Sunday Shred HIIT Cardio Routines has been fabulous! Many of you have asked for different routines (which I am hoping to get to every other Sunday!), as well as another treadmill routine. Well, here's that treadmill routine. It's just you and your treadmill this time! Make sure you have a watch that counts the seconds or a gym boss interval timer, as you will be turning the power off on your treadmill and will lose the functionality of the time feature.

isn't this jamie emason hiit workout stealer
ReplyDeleteNo, but thank you for leaving a comment. Tiffany puts a lot of time & effort into coming up with these routines. She is a certified personal trainer. If you read through our blog you will notice that if we use something that someone else came up with we CREDIT them (recipes, pictures, etc). I think you meant Jamie Eason in your comment...we love Jamie Eason!

P.S. I wish you would have left your name on this comment instead of "your killing me".
Love the workout info that you share but I am wondering about starting from the beginning. Maybe it's on your website but I am not able to find it. How & what to do to start this fitness journey? I am a fan of Clean Eating & have a few of Tosca's books. Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteHello! We are working on some beginner resources. You can definitely tailor the workouts to meet your needs though. Simply dial back the speed and incline and away you go! Look for the beginner info soon!
DeleteThis sounds silly, and I know that UFC fighters can run on a treadmill without the power on...do I just push and then hold on with my hands? I'm headed out to try this right now :) Guess the question WILL be answered...nothing like hands on, right?! Thank you for writing this all out, excited to work through it.
ReplyDeleteBetsy - everytime I've done the treadmill sans power I've held on to get some leverage...I would figure that's the only way you could maintain a pace because you wouldn't have anything else to stabilize with. It's still going to require a good bit of effort even though you hang on.
DeleteHope this helps!
It was no big deal...I mean, of course it was difficult!! But turning it off and using the handles for stabilization worked for me. Whew! What a great workout and lots of effort expended! Thanks!
DeleteSo glad you liked it Betsy! Good job on getting through it!
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have seen the trainers at my gym yell at people for turning the treadmill off and walking on it manually. I wonder if I could do this outside on the trail by using resistance bands and running intervals. Thanks, Toni
Hi Toni! Yes, some gyms do not allow this. Please ask before you do this type of exercise. If you can find a steep hill on a trail, you could substitute these intervals for wind sprints up a hill.
DeleteHow do you modify this workout for an elliptical machine?
ReplyDeleteIncrease the resistance and the angle of the plate on the elliptical for more of the hill climbs. Then, just speed up your pace!
