Clean Eat Treat :: Oatmeal Cinnamon Raisin Cookies

My favorite Sesame Street character was 'Cookie Monster.' I LOVED to watch him crumble up and devour his cookies in one fell swoop! Cookies make me happy, but too many cookies leave me bloated and wishing I could hit the gym for hours on end!  So, having this recipe to share with you REALLY makes me happy! (They are Guilt-free!)

Guilt-Free Oatmeal Cinnamon Raisin Cookies

1/2 Cup No Sugar Added applesauce

2 Tbsp water
2 cups old fashioned oats
2/3 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon

  3. Is it ok to eat raw eggwhites??

    1. The egg whites in this recipe are cooked, but as long as they are pasteurized, they are fine. If you plan on eating them raw, I would suggest buying the pasteurized egg whites in the "milk" carton at your grocery store.

  5. What other sweetener can you use?

    1. You really can try any sweeteners. If you want to keep them clean, I would suggest trying sucanet, maple sugar flakes, demerara sugar, etc.

    2. used whole grain buckwheat flour instead of pastry flour,,still delicious, and better for you, you can also use almond flour

    1. Little B has a pretty good Snickerdoodle recipe! As for the M&Ms, I'm afraid I can't help you there!

    1. Claudia,

These are actually fairly moist. They definitely don't have a crumbly texture to them. Keep in mind that the oatmeal that is "exposed" on the top does get a bit crunchy. I hope you like them!

  9. Would white whole wheat flour be okay to use instead of the pastry flour? I'm new to baking :)

    1. Hello!
Preferably, you would not want to use any "white" flours, as they are bleached from their original form (they should be brown). Try regular whole wheat flour if you can't find the whole wheat pastry flour.

  10. Literally finished baking the recipe! I got the mom and dad approval. They love it and can't believe no butter, oil or milk was used. I'm trying to show my parents that you can eat healthy/clean without it tasting like cardboard. It's moist and almost taste like a warm granola bar. Thanks for the recipe! I'm new to this site as I found it on instagram about a week ago and love the support given on here!

  12. Do these have to be kept in the fridge after cooking due to egg whites?
